Biography

Totally devoted to music and committed to performing at the highest level, Diego Galicia Suarez finds his path in the arts between musical composition and singing.


Winner of the Tyrolean classical singer award 2022 as the sponsor's prize, he has shared his warm countertenor timbre in front of different audiences and venues in Europe and Mexico. In 2018, he received a grant from the Fondation Turquois to complete his studies in the Principality of Monaco with Marie-Anne Losco, and continued his training as a singer at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève.


As a soloist, he collaborated with the ensemble La Fontana Cantabile (Switzerland, 2023) on Bach's St Matthew Passion and Christmas Oratorio. In 2024, he sang the St. John Passion conducted by Ton Koopman at the Festival d'Arts Sacrés en Dialogue at the Espace St. Gervais, Geneva.


With a particular interest in opera, he made his debut in this genre with roles such as The Little Prince in Federico Ibarra's play (Mexico 2017), Le Diable in Angélique by J. Ibert (Geneva 2020), un chinois in Don Quichotte chez la Duchesse by J. B. de Boismortier (Geneva 2022) and in 2025 he will play Idraspe in the production of Erismena by F. Cavalli, directed by Leonardo Garcia Alarcon in collaboration with the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève and the Théâtre de La Cité Bleu.

More musical explorations

Among his other projects, Diego has presented his work as a composer on several occasions, such as at the Festival Aires 2022 (Mexico) and in various concerts in Switzerland, Monaco and France. In addition, he remains active with the voice and guitar duo Les Incontournables, together with the mexican double-bassist Daniel atzatzi. Project created during the pandemic 2020 as an alternative to search for new audiences in Switzerland (Neuchatel) and with whom it has recently been presented in France and Belgium.
